This flavorful clam chowder is made with tomatoes, clams and chopped vegetables.
|1 bag||Foothill Farms Traditional Tomato Sauce Mix (#089T)|
|2 1/2 qts||Hot water (180°-190°F)|
|1 cup||Diced onion|
|1 cup||Diced celery|
|1 cup||Diced carrots|
|4 cups||Canned diced potatoes, drained|
|1 cup||Canned diced tomatoes|
|2 cups||Canned chopped clams, drained|
Pour water into mixing bowl. Pour Traditional Tomato Sauce Mix (16oz) into water while vigorously stirring with a wire whisk. Continue stirring until mix is completely dissolved. Set aside.
In a pot, sauté onions, celery and carrot until they become soft and translucent, about 4-6 minutes.
Add prepared sauce, tomatoes, potatoes and clams.
Stir and bring to serving temp (145F). Never boil.
