Precision Foods is diligent in ensuring every product which ships from its plants is blended and packaged to proper specifications and poses no food safety risk.

Our extensive quality assurance efforts begin with a commitment to provide professional training for our production team members on a regular basis. In addition we work diligently to properly maintain our equipment and have a near-obsessive emphasis on plant cleanliness.

Any new supplier, and their respective ingredient(s), must pass a rigorous review process overseen by both Procurement and R & D personnel. Stringent performance standards related to functionality and quality must be met in order to qualify.

Upon receipt, every lot of raw material is carefully screened before being approved for use in manufacture. PFI’s Quality Assurance professionals analyze raw ingredients against retained samples and reject anything that falls short of their exacting standards.

During the blending process, product must pass through screening and metal detection. QA will examine each batch by performing organoleptic and physical testing, which includes salt analysis, Brix, pH, viscosity or cook-up analysis. Retained samples of each batch are kept for the shelf life of the product. 

After every batch is run, blenders are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to guarantee no cross-contamination of flavors or allergens occurs.

Acceptable product proceeds to packaging where QA monitors the lines to ensure product is being packed according to outlined specifications. Date coding is double-checked and pouch integrity verified. 

Precision Foods has a HACCP program in place and monthly audits are conducted to assure GLPs and GMPs are being practiced. In addition, external audits are routinely conducted.  PFI historically has reported favorably in all audits of its production facilities.
