General Description

Make one gallon of either a fresh buttermilk based 1000 Island Dressing or a Honey Mustard Dressing using recipes on the package. Regular, low fat or fat free dressings can be easily prepared by changing the type of mayonnaise used (regular, low fat, fat free) and following the appropriate directions on the package.

Ingredients

Sugar, Modified Food Starch, Maltodextrin, Salt, Onion Powder, Vinegar Powder (Maltodextrin, White Distilled Vinegar, Modified Food Starch), Garlic Powder, Spice, Dextrose, Soybean Oil, Monosodium Glutamate, Color (Yellow 6), Contains 2% or Less Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking).

Directions For Use

1000 Island: Add contents of package (4 oz) to ½ gallon of buttermilk. Mix well with wire whip or electric mixer at low speed. Add ½ gallon of mayonnaise, one cup of pickle relish and one cup of ketchup. Mix at low speed until smooth (about 2 minutes). Cover and refrigerate 3-4 hours to allow dressing to thicken. Stir before using. Cover and keep refrigerated when not using.
1000 Island Buttermilk Free Alternative: Add contents of pouch to 1 quart of sour cream and 1 quart of water. Mix well with wire whip or electric mixer at low speed. Add ½ gallon of mayonnaise, one cup of pickle relish and one cup of ketchup. Mix at low speed until smooth (about 2 minutes). Cover and refrigerate 3-4 hours to allow dressing to thicken. Stir before using. Cover and keep refrigerated when not using.
